WSP is currently initiating a search for a Resident Engineer for our Albany, NY offices part of our NYSTA Design Build Term Agreement.   We are currently  seeking a resident engineer to support field quality assurance effort for work across the Albany division from Exit 31 to the MA border and as far south as Woodbury.   Work may be performed on nights and weekends.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage the day to day operations of our quality assurance oversight inspection team
  • Attend progress meetings
  • Review construction schedule
  • Confirm work meets contract requirements
  • Coordinate inspection activities and quality assurance inspections
  • Confirm work is performed per approved demolition and work plans
  • Coordinate confirmatory material testing efforts.
  • Prepare daily Resident Engineer report
  • Assist in Preparation of monthly progress reports
  • Review and sign inspection reports

Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • 7-10 years of construction management experience
  • B.S. Degree is Construction Management  or Engineering
  • NICET IV Certification
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Previous NYSDOT or NYSTA experience
  • NYS PE License
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
