WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time ODOT certified Senior Inspector for our Cleveland, Ohio office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand the nuances of construction field communication, interpreting plans and specifications, raising possible project issues, and creating Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) that documents the construction work.
  • Inspect construction project to ensure the contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals for roadway work, roadway, drainage, pavement, water works, electrical, maintenance of traffic, traffic work. zone, pavement markings, traffic control, signing, topsoil removal, demolition and clearing, foundations for embankment, sub-grades, guardrails and/or median barriers, landscaping slope protection, detours, temporary roads, etc.).
  • Verify plan quantities and calculations with as bid plans, prepares and maintain project records and reports e.g. daily diary, inspection reports, pay item quantities, contractors construction methods, material testing & inspection), and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the project engineer and defined in C&MS 105.09.
  • Notify the Contractor of non-conforming work.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7 years of construction project technical expertise.
  • High School Diploma
  • Ohio Department of Transportation(ODOT) Pre-Qualified Project Structure Inspector within 6 months of hire
  • Must be on ODOT's Preapproved List within 6 months of hire
  • The applicant is subject to Government Approval
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

  • Experience working on ODOT Construction projects
