WSP is currently initiating a search for a Bridge Engineer for our Tempe or Tucson, Arizona offices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performing structural analysis, design, and plan preparation for bridges and/or transportation structures
  • Perform routine engineering functions.
  • Prepare sketches / drawings and calculations
  • Assist in the development of technical specifications
  • Review shop drawings for conformance with contract plans
  • Prepare computer models & technical reports.
  • Provide close coordination with other disciplines in a professional manner
  • Providing leadership to design engineering staff and student interns

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Master of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution preferred
  • Professional Civil/Structural Engineer registration in the State of Arizona or ability to obtain it in the next year preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in bridge engineering industry
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s   Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Concrete bridge and steel bridge design experience
  • Experience with Finite Element Methods or other advanced structural analysis
  • Experience working in the Arizona market area
