As a world-wide leader of transportation consulting and planning services, we invite you to be a part of this future. Our Transportation Planning group in Portland, Oregon is looking for a full-time Senior Transportation Planner to join our team and support our diverse range of transportation planning services. Our current projects include congestion pricing, multi-modal transportation and transit planning, new mobility, and major infrastructure modernization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team across departments (planning, traffic, environmental, engineering) to deliver outstanding work products and strategies for client projects.
  • Prepare draft planning documents, technical memoranda, and project-related analysis and correspondence under general direction from senior staff.
  • Oversee and conduct planning development and technical work and identify and analyze potential solutions under limited supervision.
  • Suppy support and direction for technical study, design and plan formulation.  
  • Participate in public and stakeholder engagement in a professional manner, including creating presentation material or graphics in preparation for public meetings or interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in one of the following areas: multi-modal transportation planning, land use planning, transit planning and/or operations, or environmental planning.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant and/or related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Working experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with leading and delivering small tasks for planning projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 
 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Education (Graduate Level courses, short courses, Masters, PhD)   
  • AICP or other relevant licensure/certification 
  • Active member and hold leadership role in local professional organization   
  • Expertise in other technical softwares relevant to planning, engineering, graphic design, and data analytics (such as ArcGIS and InDesign/Illustrator)
  • Demonstrated commitment of keeping up-to-date in technical knowledge and participation in local professional practice organizations (APA, etc)
  • Experience working with public agencies
