WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Traffic Engineer for our Tempe, Arizona office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Traffic design including signals, lighting, ITS, signing and markings, and maintenance of traffic
  • Traffic operations analysis utilizing HCS, Synchro and VISSIM
  • Task management and oversight of junior technical staff
  • Technical writing and business development
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in traffic engineering design and operations
  • Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license in Texas or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with ADOT and other local Municipalities
  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
