WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Manager for our Houston office, to be involved in projects with our Texas PM/CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges
Your Impact
- Oversee Construction Team Management for Client, establish project parameters/expectations for project success including resourcing, control and coordination of execution of project
- Oversee construction inspectors and verify daily work reports; and documentation of contractor work performed, materials testing and traffic control based on construction plans and specifications; using E-Builder, SiteManager , spreadsheets, or other electronic or manual means.
- Coordinate with the contractor and the client to identify and resolve construction issues
- Ensures all construction activities and deliverables, which includes work packages for construction, are completed in accordance with Client's standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Verify contractor activity; recommend acceptance or rejection of work items; prepare documentation in support of monthly pay estimates and change orders.
- Develop and provide Regular Progress Reporting which summarizes Project status: Budget, Schedule, Manpower Graphs and Cost Forecasts, Change Orders, Critical Issues, etc.
- Chairs all project required progress and coordination meetings and provides a comprehensive report in the form of weekly minutes, detailing records, and actions.
- Managing all technical communications with external project team members and Client.
- Ensures technical queries raised during construction are answered appropriately
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field experience OR equivalent experience
- A Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience, including Construction Manager or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Valid drivers’ license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in local municipalities and/or local DOT.
- Background in construction management, architecture, or engineering fields.
- Professional Engineer License
- Familiarity with e-Builder, MS Office , MS Project and other PC software used on design and construction projects
