The individual will support a client–facing team in the design, management, and reporting of organizational sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.
 
Specific experience in the apparel sector is required, particularly expertise in sustainable materials and products, supplier engagement, renewable energy procurement, supply chain GHG emissions quantification including interaction with Higg product and facility tools and/or public reporting via CDP Climate Change, RE100, the UN Fashion Charter, and others.
 
Location of the position is flexible, including San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; and Boulder, CO, among other WSP office locations.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing value chain and product life cycle inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resources
  • Analyzing opportunities to achieve energy, GHG, and resource reductions across the value chain
  • Assessing sustainability-related risk and opportunity across the value chain
  • Supporting sustainability communications aligned with leading frameworks (e.g., CDP, GRI, RE100, UN Fashion Charter)
  • Supporting development of sustainability performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement plans 
  • Supporting business development activities with existing and prospective clients in apparel and other sectors

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3-6 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Degree(s) in environment/sustainability, business, energy, engineering, public policy or related discipline is preferred
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate results via Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and related software and craft compelling presentations and reports
  • Experience in apparel sustainability either from the brand- or consulting perspective
  • Awareness of sustainable materials and products, supplier engagement, and supply chain GHG emissions quantification including interaction with Higg product and facility tools
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks including CDP, DJSI, GRI, the GHG Protocol, RE100, the UN Fashion Charter, etc.
  • Ability to develop and present analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms
