WSP is currently initiating a search for a Field Engineer / Project Controls & Scheduling that is interested in being part of a Program Manager Owners Representative PMOR Team for a major multi-year, multi-discipline Rail & Transit project located in the Dallas, TX area. This candidate will be involved in one of the largest transportation projects in Texas and will be part of our Project Controls Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

  • Strong collaborative schedule analysis and forecasting to support  Resident Construction Manager (RCM).
  • Responsible for analyzing detailed execution schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Responsible for evaluating the Contractor’s schedule and advise the RCM on issues, delays, and critical path.
  • Perform daily visits to job sites in all segments to monitor and document work progress or lack of.  Interface with Segment Leads and Construction Inspectors to obtain input and validate work progress or lack of.
  • Generate As-Built schedule reports for all segments of the project for the RCM and the construction team.
  • Develop and implement monthly schedule updates and variance reports in accordance with Client process and procedures.
  • Advise the PM on key schedule activities that control the overall construction time or the critical path.
  • Assess contractor monthly schedule updates, construction performance, and support analysis of potential delay claims and change orders.
  • Contribute knowledge and fact needed to process and approve contractor’s invoices.
  • Provide strategic planning input during construction coordination meetings
  • Perform time impact analyses (TIA) and forensic delay analysis to determine the extent of the impacts of potential delays during construction
  • Identify and measure scope change impact on a project schedule(s).
  • Identify and support risk mitigation plans.
  • Identify and recommend construction sequence changes or adjustments to mitigate potential risks or delays for the Project Team and Program Leadership.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 10-12 years experience in developing and managing complex, multi-contractor project Schedules.
  • Field Engineer Experience (3+ yrs experience)
  • Linear Construction experience
    • Rail preferred; Highway considered.
  • Experience in developing and managing complex, multi-contractor project Schedules.
  • Experienced with critical path method analysis/technique with Primavera.
  • Experienced in large multi-year, multi-disciplined heavy civil transportation construction programs; preferably in Rail & Transit.
  • Change Order and Extension of Time analysis.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with field personnel 
  • Experience working within large and challenging Client Programs with one or more project teams.
  • Effective reporting and communication skills.
  • Experience in preparing high level project reports and documentation.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Rail and Transit Construction Project experience preferred, or other linear transportation construction Project experience (highways).
  • Team player and Strong communication skills
  • Construction Management background
