WSP is currently initiating a search for a Cost Engineer for our Sacramento, CA program office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate and timely cost/budget/forecast reporting
  • Verifying changes are properly reflected in the cost forecast and assessing impact on contingency, escalation and cash flow.
  • Identifying trends and deviations and report to the Program Cost and Reporting Lead.
  • Recommending solution and recover plans to address schedule and cost impacts.
  • Monitor the status of the allocation and expenditure of project commitments.
  • Assist with cost forecasts and funding that conforms to the Program Cost Unit Management Plan.
  • Analyzing variance in cost and schedule and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop Budget Tables and assist with the preparation of 202’s and BOC’s.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Three (3+) years experience in cost management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or related technical field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in cost management System, example: EcoSys.
  • Very proficient with EXCEL and pivot tables.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with Transportation projects
  • Familiar with Primavera P6
