This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Grants Development Equity-Focused Senior Consultant. This position could work out of WSP's office in Washington DC or any other WSP office nationwide.
WSP’s Grants Development & Management group supports our clients in planning, preparing, winning, and managing competitive grant funding from federal, state, and local sources. We offer clients the technical and strategic experience to select the most competitive projects for funding and develop compelling grant applications.

This position would focus on helping Government, Transportation and Energy clients nationwide meet their equity objectives through advising on technical and strategic considerations in developing and selecting projects with the best equity outcomes for competitive funding. As a member of our national Grants Development & Management group, the Senior Consultant will develop compelling grant applications to fund client projects across an array of disciplines including, but not limited to:

* Equitable Transportation Investment
* Affordable Housing
* Energy and Environment Projects

Your Impact

  • Develop grants and design funding strategy for public infrastructure projects, on behalf of clients, and in collaboration with the Advisory team and other WSP practice groups
  • Contribute to business development activities in pursuit of grant support consultant contracts
  • Contribute to client engagement and foster client relationships; current with trends, opportunities, etc
  • Manage and mentor junior consultants working on grants
  • Support clients in sectors such as transportation and resilience with grant management, including compliance and reporting requirements
  • Contribute to / coordinate with the WSP Equity Center of Excellence (ECE) practice development
  • Support ECE projects and interdisciplinary teams working on equity-related projects
  • Serve as task lead / key staff for grant assistance contracts; manage scope, schedule, and budget
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of federal policy and grant guidelines
  • Provide grant writing and funding strategy support for infrastructure projects
  • Actively contribute to client relationships (both internally and externally)

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience with 2-4 years of relevant experience on issues related to environmental, economic and/or climate justice
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Grant writing experience for governments and non-profits programs
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated passion for supporting clients with pursuing grants
  • Familiarity with  U.S Department of Transportation, other federal, state and local as well as non-profit  competitive grant programs
  • Grants management experience
  • Post Graduate Education (Graduate Level Courses Short Courses, Masters, PhD in Planning or other related disciplines)
  • Active member of local professional organizations

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $95,900 - $125,5000
