WSP is looking for a Senior Consultant Telecommunication Engineer in: Boulder, CO; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA or Greater Los Angeles Area, CA specializing in Telecommunications and Audiovisual System design. WSP works closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.

Your Impact

  • Provide designs for Telecommunications and Audiovisual Systems for multiple building types, including Commercial, Healthcare and Residential/Mixed-Use.
  • Coordinate with client design teams and owner representatives to gather and document system and design requirements.
  • Produce Telecommunications and Audiovisual design deliverables throughout the life cycle of a project, from Programming/Concept through Construction Documentation (Drawings and CSI Specifications)
  • Act as building technology lead throughout the lifecycle of a project, including:
  • Manage project resources including staff and sub-contractors 
  • Manage project fee allocation and burn 
  • Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, design teams and vendors 
  • Attend and participate in project meetings 
  • Perform and document site visits prior to, during and at completion of design (some out-of-town travel will be required, primarily within the West Coast region)
  • Technology lead responsibilities includes coordination of and integration of building systems using telecommunications infrastructure, including security, audiovisual, and intelligent building systems, whether the individual systems are designed in-house or by third party consultants, vendors and owner
  • Understanding of local and national codes and standards (NEC, IBC, FGI, TIA, UFC) related to the design and regulation of Telecommunications systems

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience in Telecommunications and Audiovisual design
  • 5-7 years’ experience designing Telecommunications and Audiovisual Systems for the Architectural and Electrical consulting
  • Integrator or specialty consultant experience is also desirable
  • Background in Telecommunications and Audiovisual system design (Public Address, conference room AV, digital signage, collaboration AV and educational AV systems) for various types and sizes of projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience desired
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Experience in working directly with clients
  • Industry Certification is a plus although not required (ASIS CPP, BICSI RCDD, Cisco CCNA)
  • U.S. Security clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security clearance is required
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge in Electronic Security Systems, experience in designing Video Surveillance, Access Control and Intrusion Detection systems 
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare sector and Specialist/Clinical systems

Expected Salary:$74,900 - $148,500
