SENIOR DIRECTOR/PROJECT MANAGER - 17250

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Director/Project Manager with extensive experience in the Energy sector, heavily focused in Transmission & Distribution and Renewable Energy. The role will be located in Orlando, Florida. Be involved in projects with our East Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

  • Embodies WSP USA’s values of innovation and client success, focused on WSP’s growth by providing technical leadership and business development support for the East Region with a primary focus on Transmission & Distribution and Renewable Energy. Maintains relationships with top key clients and supports in the Northeast Energy region strategy and implementation into client value proposition.  Provides leadership to Northeast Energy Business Line in collaboration with other leaders in the districts and regions.  
  • Supports key clients in Transmission and Distribution in coordinating sales, staffing, technical expertise and project delivery to position WSP as the preferred and trusted choice for clients and employees through successful execution of WSP USA’s strategy focused on our four pillars of success: Clients, Expertise, People & Culture and Operational Excellence.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience in electrical engineering and infrastructure design for capital projects in power generation, transmission and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Extensive advanced proficiency with infrastructure design.
  • Experience in the Energy sector with a heavy focus on the transmission & distribution and renewable submarkets
  • Transmission Line Design or Substation Physical and Protection & Controls Expertise 
  • Motivational; staff development mindset; excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills
  • Highly organized; detail oriented; skilled with implementation/ logistics
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • An understanding of all end market sectors within the A/E/C industry is a plus
  • Existing relationships with utilities and developers is preferred
