WSP has an immediate opening for a Construction Office Engineer, to join our team helping oversee various State highway and bridge projects, across southern VT, with construction values ranging from $1-$15 million.  The successful candidate will possess demonstrated construction documentation experience, an understanding of the owner representative role, with the versatility to inspect various work elements periodically, helping observe and report on project quality, progress and safety. This position would report to a resident engineer, or their designee.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Help administer contract activities and assist with reporting and other essential project documentation requirements.
  • Review daily inspector reports, track quantities, reconcile payment items, review and compile pay estimates
  • Review and coordinate material sampling, testing, and certificate of compliance process.
  • Assist with review, and processing of shop drawings, change orders, and other similar types of documents.
  • Prepare and maintain document control filing system.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 1-3 years of construction project office engineering experience, or a combination of education and multiple years of experience. 
  • Hands-on knowledge of state transportation agency means and methods, of compiling and maintaining documentation.
  • Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NETTCP or ACI certification.
  • Knowledge of construction materials i.e. asphalt, soils and concrete quality assurance methods and procedures.
  • A balance of inspection and documentation experience.
  • Above average proficiency with MS WORD Suite, Site or Field Manager, APPIA, and Doc Express.
 
The successful candidate will exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
