WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Consultant, Architect for our Virginia Beach, VA office, with the potential to work on projects to include Department of Defense projects locally and around the world.

Your Impact

  • Assist experienced Architects in broader Architectural activities
  • Perform routine Architectural functions, such as developing construction documents and feasibility studies.
  • Prepare sketches and drawings using various types of BIM/CADD design software
  • Assist with field work and document field investigation
  • Research Building Codes
  • Assisting in preparing contract documents

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Experience working on Department of Defense new work and renovation projects
  • Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and knowledge of reading drawings
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance 
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures  
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific discipline.
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
