This Opportunity

WSP is excited to be offering positions with our National Bus Rapid Transit Team, which specializes in the planning and design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects locally and across the nation.  Collaborate with and become among the nation’s best in the delivery and management of Bus Rapid Transit projects, helping create solutions that meet our clients’ objectives and solve their challenges.  Become immediately involved on some of the biggest and most exciting BRT projects currently underway in our nation’s biggest transit project markets.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a BRT Project Manager to support our national practice. This position can sit in the following offices: Washington, DC; Los Angeles, CA; Boston, MA; and Denver, CO.

Your Impact

  • Act as a technical expert on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects at all phases, from concept to construction.
  • Provide Project Management on medium to large-size projects with an opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing a scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Support larger projects as a Program Manager, Project Manager, Task Manager, or Segment Manager.
  • Aid local offices pursuing or delivering BRT projects nationally with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel.
  • Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
  • Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals, and providing other business development support.
  • Management of technical staff.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning.
  • 12+ plus years of experience in Bus Rapid Transit projects or equivalent.
  • PE or AICP
  • Experience working with transit agencies and transportation department. Experience with local transit agency and DOT's.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedure.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Direct experience with BRT
  • PTOE 
  • Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $92,500 - $213,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
