WSP USA Buildings, Inc., an award winning and innovative multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is looking for a Building Technology Systems - Consultant specializing in Audiovisual technology systems design for our Irvine, California office. Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego will be considered as well. WSP works closely with architects and owners from around the world on large, complex projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment.

Our Engineers are subject matter experts who can effectively communicate and coordinate technical topics with owners, architects, other engineers, contractors and vendors. 

Your Impact

  • Provide designs for Audiovisual systems (office, commercial, performance spaces, audiovisual cabling systems, and pathway infrastructure) and audiovisual control systems.  
  • Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements. 
  • Create design narratives and coordinated, construction documents (Drawings and CSI format specifications). 
  • Complete deliverables including technical drawings in coordination with REVIT/CAD production staff. 
  • Participate in project meetings (local and remote) with the design team and clients. 
  • Participate in construction meetings, review and respond to AV system submittals and RFI’s 
  • Perform site surveys to document construction progress. 
  • Coordinate integration of Audiovisual systems with other intelligent building systems. (BMS, Lighting control, Digital Signage, etc.) 
  • Apply local and national codes and industry standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA, AVIXA, EIA/TIA) related to the design and operation of Audiovisual and Control systems.
  • Presenting to team on technical solutions, project updates, etc.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a four-year degree (B.S. in engineering is preferred) or equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience designing Audiovisual technology systems for various spaces. 
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience actively designing high-end Audiovisual technology systems for the AEC consulting and engineering industry.  Integrator or specialty consultant experience would also be considered.
  • Audiovisual technology systems design experience for projects of various type and size. (Healthcare, Commercial office, Hospitality, Science and Technology, High rise Residential, Mission Critical) 
  • Advanced knowledge of audiovisual systems technical performance and their relevant applications
  • Design experience related to DAS and/or Data Network/Wi-Fi/Telephony is a plus but not required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.  
  • Revit experience desired.  
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software. 
  • Experience working directly with clients including architects and building owners. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification (ASIS CPP, BICSI RCDD, AVIXA (InfoComm) CTS/-D, Cisco CCNA, etc.) is a plus although not required.

Compensation


Expected Salary (all locations): $91,100 - $120,000


WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
