This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineering CADD Technician for our Portland, OR office. Be involved in projects with our Civil Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Takes part in providing local technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines.  Tasks may include generating CADD designs on various assigned aspects of projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexity.  Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including external reference files and sheets for plans and profiles, models, sections and details.  Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.

Your Impact

  • Prepare preliminary and final CADD construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, environmental, structural and utility improvement projects.
  • Prepare preliminary and final right-of-way, planning, or other technical drawings.
  • May lead project CADD support efforts under the direction of the engineer in charge.
  • Perform basic geometry and quantity calculations.
  • Review of other’s work and quality checks.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of formal CADD training.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of CADD experience.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MicroStation InRoads, AutoCAD Civil3D, Bentley Projectwise, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of general civil, structural and engineering design and construction documents.
  • Understand and interpret topographic survey and base mapping including coordinates, elevations, contours, utility symbols, roadway symbols, etc.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads.
  • Experience with local city, county, and state engineering standards.
  • Experience in engineering discipline.
