This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Services Area Manager for our Charlotte, NC  office.  Be involved in projects with our Construction Engineering and Inspection Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

 Your Impact

Job Duties:

  • Assist in marketing the company and our CEI Services and assist in the preparation of responses to Requests for Letter of Interest
  • Maintain key relationships with public and private clients by ensuring excellent service and meeting clients' needs
  • Develop new relationships with individuals at NCDOT, local government, private businesses and other potential new clients
  • Recruiting, hiring and managing CEI personnel to meet client needs
  • Act as Construction Manager, Quality Control Manager or Inspection Coordinator as needed on project sites
  • Prepares presentation to potential clients and participates in the presentation
  • Establishes teams in pursuing RFP's and other advertisements for work
  • Compiles information for RFP's and prepares responses to work advertisements
  • Prepares CEI work estimates
  • Ensure Signed Timesheets are received for billing to client
  • Assist with monitoring of contract task amounts and request increases as needed
  • Ensure technician certifications are current
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

 Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other related degree
  • 12+ years of experience in the construction field with managerial and organizational experience and with a background in the policies and procedures of NCDOT and FHWA
  • Ability to maintain professional network and relationships with NCDOT, engineering teaming partners, construction contractors and suppliers
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on teams
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
