This Opportunity

WSP currently has an opportunity available for an Early Career Environmental Data Analyst based out of our Portland, Oregon office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team NW Remediation Practice and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The successful candidate will have one to five years of professional experience and a very strong background in environmental data management and analysis.  Proficiency of pertinent software identified below is strongly desired.

Your Impact

  • Develop and utilize data validation tools in Excel, Access and SQL to identify data quality issues.
  • Collect and configure large datasets to meet project specifications.
  • Provide technical support to field sampling teams and act as a liaison between the project staff, analytical laboratory, data validator and GIS analysts.
  • Provide reporting support by generating and formatting tables, charts, or graphs.
  • Research state and federal regulations necessary to manage action levels or clean-up criteria.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in environmental Science, Engineering or Information Technology required.
  • 0-1 years of experience in the environmental field with emphasis on environmental data management.
  • Experience with enterprise database software: EarthSoft EQuIS, MS SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • In-depth knowledge using MS Excel to manipulate and organize data sets for import into a database and for final reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem solving capabilities.
  • Highly initiative, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Develop and utilize data validation tools in Excel, Access and SQL to identify data quality issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automating tasks using VBA, Python, or other data intensive languages a plus.
  • Experience in the planning, design and implementation of mobile applications for field data collection a plus.
