Your Impact

•    Will work under the guidance and mentorship of Senior Engineers.
•    Coordinate and manage geotechnical investigations (i.e. driller acquisition, traffic control, permitting, utility locates, etc.) 
•    Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, such as bearing capacity and settlement of spread footing, drilled shaft, and pile foundations, slope stability, and liquefaction, under the guidance of a senior engineer.
•    Assist with preparation of geotechnical design reports and plans under the guidance of a senior engineer.
•    Complete construction observations to confirm design assumption.
•    Perform field and laboratory tests related to materials testing and geotechnical engineering. Such test may include field density testing with a nuclear density gage, compaction (proctor), consolidation, and direct shear.
•    Travel to project sites in Utah and the western US. The job will be approximately 75% field work and 25% office work; and approximately 25% of the field work may require travel.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

•    BS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related engineering degree required.  MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
•    0 - 1 years + relevant engineering experience.
•    EIT is the minimum requirement with a goal of achieving professional registration as soon as eligible.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD.
•    Familiarity with geotechnical software such as Bentley Open Ground, GeoStudio, Rocscience, Pensoft, CeLiq, etc.
•    Ability to function in a team environment with multiple disciplines and accepting of diversity and inclusion related to ethnicity, gender, and personality type.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills; written and verbal communication skills and will be a proactive problem solver.
•    A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
•    Willingness to travel to project sites in Utah and the western US.  Approximately 25% overnight travel.
•    Physical requirements may require lifting up to 40 pounds and traversing over rugged terrain.
•    Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
