WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Structural Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. Be involved in projects with our TransportationTeam and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
- Entry Level position to perform engineering analysis and design of transportation structures such as bridges and retaining walls. Position requires knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision; work is reviewed for adequacy and accuracy.
- Typical duties may include assisting with the analysis and design calculations for structures; developing design plans, specifications, and quantities for bridge replacement projects; reviewing submittals and shop drawings; and utilizing OpenBridge software for CADD tasks.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related degree.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification or Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
- Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited Structural or Civil Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
- The successful candidate will have 0-3 years of internship experience in Structural Engineering.
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
- Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (i.e. OpenX, AutoCad, Excel, Staad, Mathcad)
