WSP is currently initiating a search for a Geotechnical Engineer for our New York, NY office.

Your Impact

  • Field inspection and supervision of subsurface investigations in soils and rock
  • Perform geotechnical engineering design and analyses for tunnels, underground structures, bridges, and retaining walls under the supervision of a senior engineer
  • Support preparation of geotechnical memoranda, data, and design reports
  • Field Inspection of construction
  • Assist task leaders in the preparation of reports and Contract Documents

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Good understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines (Structures, Civil, Environmental, and Planning)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, other disciplines, managers, and other staff)
  • Ability and willingness to travel and perform fieldwork
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior design experience.
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Expected Salary: $70,000 - $106,400
