Perform industrial design activities for shop maintenance projects varying from new structures to rehabilitating existing facilities and yards. Projects will typically involve programming, master planning, facility layouts, shop equipment coordination, and final design.

Your Impact

  • Determining size and configuration of transit maintenance facilities; including shop, office, welfare and exterior areas.
  • Laying out maintenance support shops and associated industrial equipment.
  • Coordinating utility and structural requirements of industrial maintenance equipment.
  • Writing and reviewing equipment specifications and submittals to meet client operational needs.
  • Ability to travel for project work.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or closely related discipline.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior transit and rail experience. 
  • Engineer license required.
  • Proficient with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, process, and design/build on major infrastructure projects, particularly railway civil works, transit stations, bridges, and elevated structures. 
  • Knowledge and experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office, AutoCAD, and Revit applications 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Solid team participation and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Transit Design experience 
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
