WSP is seeking a Lead Geologist with 7 or more years consulting experience to join our Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team.  We offer flexible working arrangements to help with work/life balance, and have offices in Portland, OR and Redmond, WA.

WSP’s Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team offers environmental remediation and related services to a diverse set of clients, including industrial/commercial companies, local and state agencies, and the federal government. Project locations are local, regional, and nationwide. We have in-house experts in chemistry, risk assessment, data management, graphics/GIS, engineering, and industrial hygiene who support projects in the Pacific Northwest and many other locations, and have access to subject matter experts worldwide.  The position requires a self-motivated candidate able to work as part of local, regional, or national project teams.

Your Impact

  • Help solve problems and document solutions, express ideas through strong technical writing and verbal communication, and support technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment.
  • Work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with substantial emphasis on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, and stormwater investigations and remediation systems; chemical fate and transport assessment; hazardous waste management; permitting; and site planning.
  • Be a member or leader of teams providing environmental consulting services to commercial and government clients.
  • Perform complex technical tasks under oversight of more experienced technical reviewers/directors as appropriate. 
  • Possess knowledge and technical skills in Federal, Oregon and Washington regulations.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related discipline
  • 7 or more years post-education environmental consulting experience
  • Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) if a Geologist/Hydrogeologist
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Consistent and highly accurate project work
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
  • Comfortable working within both small and large project teams to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work in industrial and field environments as well as in the office
  • Flexible to work outside of business hours, when necessary
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook, in particular
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Compensation and Benefits: 
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. 

Expected Salary: $108,600 - $130,300
