Our WSP USA Property and Buildings team is initiating a search for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Atlanta office. Be involved in projects with our Southern States Property & Buildings Team and be part of a team environment working in the complex building design and construction field: healthcare, science & technology, and advanced manufacturing projects.
Your Impact
- Demonstrates developing analytical and design skills and ability to solve technical problems in professional discipline
- Performs engineering design on specific tasks and portions of a broader project under minimal supervision of an experienced design engineer
- Ability to utilize analytical techniques in solving technical problems

- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
- Assist in engineering design using Revit/CADD software
- Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations
- Assist with technical report writing - literature review, analytical studies, and concept design
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
- Assist senior staff members
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural, or related engineering degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant post education experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
- Familiarity with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoDesk Revit.
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate in an accredited mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering program, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.
- Engineer In Training Certificate.
- Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation software.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. #LI-JA1
