This Opportunity

Our WSP USA Property and Buildings team is initiating a search for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Atlanta office. Be involved in projects with our Southern States Property & Buildings Team and be part of a team environment working in the complex building design and construction field: healthcare, science & technology, and advanced manufacturing projects.

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills
  • Assist in engineering design using Revit/CADD software
  • Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations
  • Assist with technical report writing - literature review, analytical studies, and concept design
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
  • Assist senior staff members
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural, or related engineering degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
  • Familiarity with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoDesk Revit.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate in an accredited mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering program, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • Engineer In Training Certificate.
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation software.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. #LI-JA1
