Our MEP Team is seeking a MEP Intern to work out of our Kansas City, MO office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.

Your Impact

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design.
  • Learn basic principles of electrical system design and become familiar with Revit.
  • Perform basic calculations.
  • Assist in analyzing data.
  • Perform basic engineering design and production and construction administration services.
  • Provide assistance in engineering or/and other technical areas.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or related, Undergraduate program.
  • Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and producing technical drawings.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or related, Masters or PhD program.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Revit, and knowledge of reading construction plans.
