WSP is currently initiating a search for a Office Engineer of Construction for our Client's Albany, NY Field Office.   Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

Job Description:

  • Provide assistance to New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Project Manager as directed
  • Assist Senior Project Manager and Senior Superintendents with their duties as necessary.
  • Technical Lead/Liason for Electronic Bidding System
  • Assist with developing/maintaining procedure manual
  • Coordinate and assist with Div 00 01 Master Specification updates, other duties pertaining to Contract Awards unit as assigned.
  • Assist with monitoring progress on contractor submittals, Requests for Information, Information Bulletins, Change/Field Orders.
  • Assist with monitoring progress and processing reports and required OGS documentation.
  • Coordinate monthly scheduling meetings.
  • Assist project Teams with multiple projects as requested.
  • Provide support to other staff on processes and requirements, monitor contract compliance, participate in the development of contracts.
  • Provide afterhours coverage for emergency coordination as needed.
  • Travel throughout the region may be required, vehicle will be necessary with valid driver’s license.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

 

 Who You Are

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma,
  • Minimum of 7 years experience on smaller projects valued above $1M
  • Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows/Outlook/Word/Excel and scheduling applications
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting within separate and intergrated systems and applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license - Occasional travel within the region may be required.
  • Proven ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • This hire will be contingent upon client selection and successful background check. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Experience with Submittal Exchange and Bluebeam preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience with institutional construction preferred but not mandatory
  • Proficient with web-based submittal collaboration systems
  • Working knowledge with project scheduling software (i.e. Oracle Primavera)

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $50,700 – $87,010
