This Opportunity

WSP is initiating a search for a Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager with the potential to work out of any of our Maritime offices, including Portland, OR; Tacoma, WA; Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; San Diego, CA; Oakland, CA and San Francisco, CA.


For over 40-years WSP has been a leader in waterfront structural design in the Puget Sound, for the U.S. Navy, and worldwide. The projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging.   
 
Be involved in projects with our Ports and Maritime Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Our Maritime group comprises of highly motivated analysts, planners, and civil/structural engineers working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are port authorities, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors and private entities. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our marine-related work and our staff.

Your Impact

  • Independently perform and supervise structural analysis and design for marine and upland components
  • Independently perform and supervise berthing and mooring analyses
  • Lead development of plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates for variety of port and Navy projects
  • Understand maritime codes and references including UFC, PIANC, ASCE-61
  • Independently prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, alternatives analysis, and study reports
  • Understand interdisciplinary requirements for port projects and be capable of performing QA/QC reviews
  • Attend client meetings and perform site visits
  • Mentor developing port and maritime engineers
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures 
  • Professional Engineer Licenses
  • Bachelors in Civil/Structural Engineering. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Previous experience in analyses and design of medium to large scale ports/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
  • National professional practice organization involvement
  • Hands-on analyses and design experience (SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L-PILE, SLIDE)

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $105,000- $180,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
