This Opportunity

Entry Level Process Lab Technician needed to join our Salt Lake City, Utah team to support analytical laboratory activities for a local mining client.

Your Impact

•    Conduct routine sample preparation and analyses procedures on a variety of sample matrices.  
•    Prepare quality control samples such as round robin samples, analytical standards, duplicates and spikes. 
•    Participate in Method Development, validations, and certification activities. Participate in the quality control and assurance programs of the Central Laboratory, by assisting in proficiency testing, routine audits, trouble shooting, and continuous process improvements. 
•    Laboratory analyses utilized are classical and instrumental (ICP-OES and ICP-MS, XRF, DC Arc, ion analyzers, automated titration and LECO analyzers). 
•    Perform volumetric measurements utilizing laboratory balances, auto-titrators, pipettes, etc. 
•    Utilize analytical methods, standard operating procedures, and laboratory data systems to ensure data integrity, compliance, and good laboratory practices.
•    Will utilize computer operations including Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn laboratory specific protocols including custom software and LIMS programs.
•    Will keep handwritten records and keep records on the computer.
•    Must perform additional duties as assigned

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

•    High School Diploma or equivalent
•    Minimum 0 -2 years lab experience
•    Will work closely with Lab Management to ensure that submitted samples are completed safely, quickly, and accurately. 
•    Work well in a team environment and in maintaining and creating projects.
•    Need to be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
•    After training, ability to troubleshoot instrumentation issues and method QC failures while applying data integrity and good laboratory practices. 
•    Understand, interpret, and adapt existing methods to improve data accuracy and precision.
•    Assist in developing new methods of analysis and commissioning of instrumentation
•    Neat legible record keeping, a safe-work attitude and proficient writing and computer skills are mandatory attributes. 
•    Self motivated to learn new techniques and instrumentation and able to work with minimal supervision.
•    Must have an unwavering commitment to safety.
•    Must pass background check and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

•    Our ideal candidate has some lab experience
•    Working knowledge of computers and computer applications
