WSP’s Strategic Growth Team (SGT) is a national group of collaborative and innovative problem solvers who frequently work across business units and geographies to advance growth initiatives, secure the win and leverage the expertise of the broader organization to meet our clients needs. We are looking for a Property and Buildings business line (BL) marketing manager to partner with our business line leadership (BLL) as well as SGT and National Business Line (NBL) leadership to bring the best strategies and resources to drive client engagement, positioning, brand awareness, knowledge management and other marketing. The business line marketing leader will facilitate and/or support teams in positioning for major pursuits, including capture planning, proposal development and interview coaching, with an eye for continuous improvement. In addition, they will act as a knowledge manager for the BL, maintain BL-specific collateral, support marketing communications activity and improve awareness of BL services to enhance cross-selling opportunities. The role will closely partner with BL leadership to support client-specific growth plans and build the pipeline with our key clients and markets.

Your Impact

Marketing Management

  • Works with BLL to support overall BL marketing strategy to help achieve sales and funding performance goals in alignment with regional and district strategic plans and business plans
  • Works with BLL to facilitate go/no-go meetings, conduct pipeline updates, perform pursuit readiness reviews, and other meetings in support of sales and marketing activities for the BL
  • Supports BLL and National Business Line Leadership (NBLL) to provide content that may be required for regional or corporate reporting on BL sales and development performance 
  • Assists BLL with the annual development of BL strategies and partners to progress these initiatives
  • May participate in or facilitate annual business planning activities in partnership with the BLL and DMD
  • Oversees team of SGT staff assigned to partner with the Property & Buildings practice
  • Hold monthly briefings on BL performance and priorities with the Region and District Marketing Directors (RMD/DMD) 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the RMD, DMD or BLL

Pursuits & Clients

  • Regularly acts as capture manager, proposal manager, and/or interview coach for BL’s opportunities, ensuring proper strategy and positioning in line with WSP’s standards
  • Works collaboratively to develop and review qualifications packages, resumes, project descriptions and other tailored marketing materials for BL-specific content and messaging
  • Supports client-focused activities and client care teams for key clients to build client relationships and understanding of client needs, and WSP’s response and solutions to those needs
  • Provides regular updates to the broader organization on the progress of BL’s top pursuits and client care teams
  • Coordinates closely with regional and district marketing leaders to secure additional resources to support BL marketing activities
  • Makes connections across business lines and geography to assist in cross-selling all of WSP’s capabilities in proposals and client activities

Knowledge Management 

  • Serves as the SGT’s primary point of contact in the region for the BL and acts as a liaison to the NBL marketing leader to find ways to foster and streamline collaboration and knowledge sharing in our matrixed organization  
  • Develops and maintains BL-specific marketing collateral to enable the broader organization to understand the expertise and innovation of the BL and promote cross-selling of BL’s services 
  • Serves as a knowledge manager for the BL’s staff, projects, technical innovations, and general qualifications 
  • Trains, coaches and develops staff within the SGT to eventually conversant in the business line
  • Support BLL with connecting to broader national initiatives as appropriate and needed (e.g.: Future Ready, Energy Transition and other campaigns)

Events & Communications     

  • Aligns all regional BL communications and visibility activities with the national strategy for BL positioning and growth 
  • Coordinates closely with NBL and marketing communications team
  • Works closely with BL leadership to develop an annual calendar of local/regional events and associated strategies for each event
  • Coordinates WSP’s participation in regional BL events, conferences, memberships, sponsorships, white papers, project openings, etc. 
  • May develop externally facing collateral, local social media posts, news and announcements, and other communications pieces for the regional BL, in coordination with marketing communications 
  • May be responsible for developing BL-specific award submissions, responding to surveys, and coordinating other external visibility opportunities
  • May assist with developing content for internal communications such as BL newsletters, town halls, leadership conferences, executive briefings, etc.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism or closely related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the A/E/C industry with experience across a multi-state region or practice
  • Thorough understanding of business line and approach to the marketplace
  • Strong communications experience, able to articulate complex ideas in a creative manner and able to influence or persuade others
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal-oriented
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes with a commitment to internal and external client service
  • Knowledge of the pursuit development process from creation through submission
  • Highly organized; detail oriented; skilled with implementation/logistics
  • Competitive passion for winning and the ability to build that passion in others
  • Strategic thinker that can look at the big picture and drive strategy to achieve tactical objectives
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, and other communications-related software programs
  • Ability to travel, as needed
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Compensation


Expected Salary (all locations): $91,100 - $127,000


WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $91,100-125,000
