EARLY CAREER CIVIL ENGINEER - 16731

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Civil Engineer for our Philadelphia office.  The following locations will also be considered: Exton, PA.  Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

This position is focused on transportation engineering - typical topics include roadway, stormwater, and site design.

Your Impact

  • Roadway alignments and modeling
  • Plans preparation
  • Quantity calculations, cost estimate preparation and specification writing
  • Drainage and stormwater management design
  • Assistance with proposal preparation
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related degree.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited [Civil] Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.
  • 0-3 years of internship experience in [Civil] Engineering.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, and/or Power InRoads or Open Roads Designer.
  • EIT certification
  • Knowledge of AASHTO Green Book and PennDOT DM-2 
  • Familiarity with PennDOT/PTC/SEPTA/Amtrak project procedures
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
