This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Civil/ Geotechnical Engineer for our Atlanta, GA office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of field/site work and laboratory testing
- Prepare geotechnical data reports
- Prepare geotechnical calculations and conduct modeling, including slope stability, seepage and consolidation analyses
- Prepare geotechnical recommendations reports with senior review
- Serve as a resident engineer / site lead for construction quality assurance
- Ability to work with a team or with minimal supervision, and with contractors and cross-discipline in-house designers
- Be willing and able to work on projects involving dams and other retaining structures, lined structures, underground facilities, rock and soil mechanics, and other geotechnical applications
- Assist with writing reports, cost estimating and permit documents
- Assist with the preparation of project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering
- 0-1 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership ability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work both independently and within groups
- Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is necessary
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software - AutoCAD, GINT, Slide, etc.
- FE/EIT (or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year) required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification
- Some prior experience in the civil, geological, or mining engineering fields are a plus
- Master's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering
