This Opportunity
WSP is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer to join our Earth & Environment, Site Investigation and Remediation team in our Portland, OR office. WSP’s Site Investigation and Remediation team offers environmental remediation and related services to a diverse set of clients, including industrial/commercial companies, local and state agencies, and the federal government. Project locations are local, regional, and nationwide. We have in-house experts in chemistry, risk assessment, data management, graphics/GIS, engineering, and industrial hygiene who support projects in the Pacific Northwest and many other locations, and have access to subject matter experts worldwide. The position requires a self-motivated candidate able to work as part of local, regional, or national project teams.
Your Impact
- Solve problems and document solutions.
- Express ideas through strong technical writing and verbal communication.
- Support technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment.
- Work on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with substantial emphasis on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, stormwater investigations and remediation systems, chemical fate and transport assessment, hazardous waste management, permitting, and site planning.
- Member or leader of teams providing environmental consulting services to commercial and government clients.
- Perform complex technical tasks under oversight of more experienced technical reviewers/directors as appropriate.

- Possess knowledge and technical skills in Federal, Oregon and Washington regulations.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of post education environmental consulting experience
- Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Consistent and highly accurate project work
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Comfortable working within both small and large project teams to achieve objectives
- Ability to work in industrial and field environments as well as in the office
- Flexible to work outside of business hours, when necessary
- Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook, in particular
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
