We are looking for a talented Structural Engineer with 12+ years experience to join our growing Geotechnical and Tunneling Team in New York City. We are working on some of the biggest and most challenging underground projects in the area (and the world), including the Second Avenue Subway, Hudson Tunnels (part of Amtrak's Gateway Program) and the B&P Tunnel Replacement Program. WSP is looking for a Vice President Structural Engineer for our New York, NY office.
Your Impact
- Lead the design of complex underground projects, including tunnels, caverns and shafts
- Meet our clients, identify their needs, and work with your team to deliver those solutions
- Coordinate between engineers, architects and systems designers
- Share your knowledge and advice with mid-level engineers, provide mentoring and make presentations
- Perform structural analyses to develop efficient and constructible designs in reinforced concrete and steel
- Lead the development of drawings, BIM models, specifications and reports
- Provide support during construction
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- 12+ years of experience in structural engineering practice
- Strong background in structural analysis, familiar with structural engineering software such as SAP2000, STAAD and spColumn
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- PE license
- Underground structural experience

Compensation:
Expected Salary (New York): $190,000 - $220,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
