WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Remediation / Sediment Engineer to support our growing remediation practice in either our Boston, MA, Chelmsford, MA, or Merrimack, NH offices. Your Impact

  • Serve as the Lead Design Engineer for current key projects/programs focused on sediment remediation.
  • Participate in the development of strategic approaches that both meet regulatory requirements and bring the best value to clients.
  • Provide engineering design expertise for the remediation of contaminated sediments, soil, and groundwater involving remedies such as dredging, capping, containment, in-situ and ex-situ treatment, and subsurface vapor mitigation.
  • Coordinate the development and finalization of technical documents, such as feasibility studies, remedial work plans, remedial design drawings and specifications, construction/remediation completion reports, and permit applications in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Successfully perform project delivery functions including tracking project activities related to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Serve as a technical leader and interact with clients to solve their toughest issues.
  • Serve as a mentor to developing engineers.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed PE
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in civil, environmental, geotechnical, or other similar engineering degrees.
  • Minimum 12+ years experience.
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and up-to-date 8-hour refresher.
  • Experienced technical, and client relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks including CERCLA, RCRA, 401 and 404 permitting, and technical guidance. Familiarity with other local, State and federal (USEPA) agencies/regulations is a plus.
  • Experience with both conventional and innovative remediation technologies.
  • Experience developing and implementing Pre-Design Investigations, Feasibility Studies Remedial Designs, and Remedial Action Implementation projects (regulatory and technical/contractual).
  • The candidate must have strong computer and writing skills.  
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and show a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
