This Opportunity

WSP USA is looking for a Building Technology Systems (BTS) National Practice Leader to work out of any mutually agreed WSP USA office. 
The BTS National Practice Leader will play a pivotal role in advancing our technical capabilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Technology Solutions, and contributing to the overall success of our Property + Buildings Specialty Services organization. This leadership position demands a visionary, results-driven, and collaborative individual who can inspire a team of engineers and technical experts. You will bring a passion for Technology Design Services, ranging from structured cabling, security systems, healthcare technology systems, and audio-visual systems and their deployment within a multi-disciplinary design team to create high-performance built environments.

Your Impact

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision across the Technology disciplines and Regions, aligning it with the broader WSP Property + Buildings goals and objectives.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and market opportunities to position the practice for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior Specialty Services leadership to integrate the practice's strategy into the overall Property + Buildings strategy within the United States.

Technical Excellence

  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the practice.
  • Ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Oversee the development and execution of complex engineering projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Champion the integration of digital technology to advance the technical practice and project delivery.


Operational Performance:

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the operational efficiency of the practice.
  • Optimize resource allocation, project management processes, and workflows to enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and remove operational bottlenecks.


Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers and technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, supporting their development and career progression.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement talent development strategies.
    Client Engagement
  • Establish and maintain strong internal and external client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering innovative solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify new opportunities and contribute to proposal development.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and promote repeat business through exceptional project delivery.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure that all engineering practices adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high-quality deliverables and reduce errors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the practice.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field; Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Certified Technology Specialist Designer (CTS-D), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar preferred but not required.
  • 15+ years of experience in technology design, with a proven track record of leadership and project management.
  • Strong understanding of [specific industry or technical expertise].
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and talent development.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $129,300 - $260,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $140,000-220,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
