This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Tunnel Engineering Manager for our Los Angeles, California office.  Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

  • Serve as a Project Manager or Construction Manager on major infrastructure projects involving TBM tunneling, underground structure design and construction
  • Lead tunnel & shaft design on water and transportation projects
  • Lead tunnel inspection and rehabilitation work
  • Manage multidiscipline engineering team on underground structure design or construction project
  • Lead pursuit and prepare bid documents including design, schedule, cost estimate, etc.
  • Manage collaboration between owner, design team and contractor
  • Prepare contract documents and perform value engineering evaluations
  • Provide oversight on technical issues related to design and construction of underground structures

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical, tunneling and underground engineering
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering 
  • Professional Engineer registration in California

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s Degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering.
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical, tunneling and underground engineering
  • Program/Construction management experience of underground project
  • Extensive Experience in Design/Build and Progressive Design-Build
  • Experience communicating with project stakeholders
  • Proven experience in leading engineering design and construction management of large infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in preparing contract drawings, specifications and cost estimates of major infrastructure projects
  • Ability and willingness for travel, field work, and work at project site
  • Excellent verbal and written communications

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $200,000 - $250,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
