Your Impact

  • Serves as critical team member on water resource related projects
  • Organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing assignments and tasks
  • Performs standard or routine engineering calculations; 
  • Preparing project design, calculations, and drawings 
  • Prepare / assist in the preparation of permit applications and supporting materials
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures, site safety standards and permit requirements 
  • Performs site visits and contractor field oversight as needed 
  • Prepares technical reports documenting the work performed and findings of investigations
  • Compiles information from reports and published documents; Evaluates and/or analyses the compiled information following standard methods and best engineering judgement
  • Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling using a variety of software including ICPR, HEC-HMS/RAS, and SWMM
  • Uses ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD to assist with project analysis and designs
  • Performs stream restoration analysis and design to restore channels to a more historic condition
  • Performs wetland restoration analysis and design to restore large decommissioned agricultural sites to a more historic condition.
  • Remain current in latest water resource engineering techniques.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge in water resources, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stream restoration and other related engineering disciplines 
  • Minimum FL Engineering in Training certification and / or FL Professional Engineer 
  • Knowledge of engineering and other environmental issues in Florida
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of H&H modeling (ICRP4, HECRAS, etc.)
  • Strong engineering design skills and the ability to translate project designs into construction plans
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to prepare reports and setup spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail
  • Works well in Team environment
  • Proficiency in using ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD
  • Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with WSP’s driving (MVR) policy
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
  • Must be able to travel locally and out of area when necessary
  • The position is located in Central FL
