WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Consultant, Electrical Engineer for one of our Northeast offices

Your Impact

  • Design, inspection and testing of electrical systems for heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, locks, dams, and travelers.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and work in the field as needed.
  • Oversight of field inspection and report preparation.
  • Responsible Charge for repair, rehabilitation and new designs.
  • Assist in the implementation of the marketing plan and business development goals established for the company.
  • Client management 
  • Remain current in latest electrical engineering techniques and practices.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects with infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in electrical and control systems design.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the design and inspection of heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, locks, and dams.
  • Engineer-In-training (EIT) Certification.
  • Power distribution design and controls and power design experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Highly motivated and able to work in the field and office.
  • Experience leading design teams to meet Owners’ needs within scope, budget and schedule.
  • Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Movable Bridge experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
  • Good communication skills at all levels, both in oral presentation and written reports.
  • Work collaboratively with Owners to meet their needs.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is desired.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $74,900 - $148,500

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
