This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Roadway Engineer to support our Florida Civil Transportation Team! This role can be located in Miami, FL. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive range of roadway design experience related to transportation infrastructure projects which may include geometric design, complete streets, temporary traffic control, or limited access highway design. This position is an excellent opportunity to continue to enhance design and production skills and build relationships within WSP as well as with a large number of clients around the state. Assist in leading design for segments of projects from concept to final design. 

Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, improvement, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

Your Impact

  • Deliver analysis, plans production and other technical activities for various state and local government agencies and private clients.
  • Guide design teams to achieve overall project objectives.
  • Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages.
  • Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
  • Perform professional civil engineering work and assist with conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, and transportation channels to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil design and plan production for transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).
  • Proficiency in software design packages such as Microstation (ORD) and similar design software programs.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning and design; including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • P.E highly preferred.
  • Experience with FDOT projects.
