WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Director for our El Paso, TX location. The candidate will play a key strategic leadership role in the Texas geography as we continue to strengthen and expand our Transportation practice across the state and within the El Paso region.  This position will enhance existing client relationships, position for new work, and deliver successful projects. The position will work with business line leaders across all sectors, as well as with district, regional and national leadership, to position WSP as the preferred and trusted choice for clients and employees.

Your Impact

Operational Excellence

  • Optimizes the client and employee experience through regular review and implements process improvements and automation
  • Focuses on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards
  • Develops local growth, forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region and National Business Line Leaders
  • Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP’s client base, or on projects
  • Collaborate with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metrics

  • Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit Management

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience with a college degree or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal oriented
  • Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes
  • Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice
  • Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area
  • Commitment to internal and external client service
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
