WSP is currently initiating a search for Video Operations Analysts in Arlington, Virginia. Be involved in projects with our Mobility Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

The function of this position is to observe the performance of operations and operating conditions at transportation operations to ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner.  

  • Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Monitoring Safe Performance of operations through use of video technologies
  • Ensuring that safety regulations and protocols are observed by personnel at all sites through observation of operating practices.
  • Ensure that patrons are provided continuously safe environments for performing their travel through observation of conditions and traffic flows.  
  • Completing records of observations, noting the existence of proper conditions or problematic conditions requiring attention from safety and operations management.
  • Alerting management of potential or apparent observed conditions that  present adverse impacts to safe operations.
  • Monitoring Procedural Compliance during Emergency Incidents.
  • Providing assistance to management and personnel in observing conditions in the event of Emergency Conditions.    
  • Providing a ‘second eye,’ monitoring actions and decision-making with regards to management of a pre-defined list of emergency incidents
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma as a minimum requirement. Associate degree from an accredited college or university is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience as a safety investigator.  
  • Proven professional experience and familiarity with the importance and critical safety implications of adhering to operational procedures  
  • Proven strong communication skills (written and verbal) and high levels of emotional intelligence to  unevenly establish and manage professional relationships.  
  • Skills in monitoring of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems
  • Skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation and database software
  • Ability to multitask and organize vital information, as well as reply to inquiries quickly
  • Ability to work varied hours as necessary
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to represent the client and WSP in an administrative, civil, or criminal process regarding observed issues
  • Ability to recognize and respond to a wide range of safety and security notifications
  • Familiarity with PC equipment including PC based desktops and laptops, Microsoft Office 365 and CCTV camera systems and related software / web applications
  • Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued from state of residence.
  • Must never have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • This position is contingent upon WSP being selected for a contract or program we are currently pursuing.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
  • Essential professional licensure/certification.
